The role

23rd CSDP High Level Course 2027-2028 “David Sassoli” Call for applications for a Course Director Purpose

  1. The present call seeks to identify a Course Director to support the ESDC 23rd CSDP High Level Course

2027-2028 “David Sassoli”.

Responsibilities

  1. The Course Director is responsible for ensuring overall co-ordination and coherence throughout the

planning and programming cycle of the High-Level Course (HLC), providing guidance and leadership to the module leaders and participants.

  1. The following tasks are the primary responsibilities of the Course Director (this list is not exhaustive):

a. Work closely with module leaders and ESDC Training Managers to coordinate detailed module programmes; b. Ensure course participants receive all necessary information prior to each module; c. Fine-tune module programmes to align with the outlined curriculum; d. Assist in identifying and inviting qualified lecturers; e. Support lecturers in preparing and delivering their lectures effectively; f. Keep regular contact with course participants to address any concerns and provide guidance; g. Assist module leaders in preparing their evaluation reports; h. Compile and present the overall course report to the Executive Academic Board i. Participate in Executive Academic Board meetings, when HLC issues are discussed, if necessary; j. 4. Candidates:

a. Must be available from the course's inception in September 2027 through to its final evaluation in July 2028; b. Should have prior experience of directing courses targeted at senior-level audience; c. Must possess extensive knowledge of CFSP/CSDP and current developments in the field; d. Required to have the relevant language skills as per CFSP/CSDP regulations; e. Must hold a Personal Security Clearance for the level of CONFIDENTIEL UE/EU CONFIDENTIAL. Selection Procedure

  2. Applicants should express their interest by sending their CVs and a motivation letter.
  3. A selection panel will be established within the ESDC Secretariat to recommend a suitable candidate

to the Head of ESDC.

  1. The decision on the appointment shall be made by the Head of the ESDC.
  2. The appointment shall be for one year and may be renewed for two additional years.

Expenses

  1. If the Course Director’s expenses are not covered by a national authority, the ESDC may reimburse

eligible expenses in accordance with the applicable rules and ceilings.
